“Explore how embracing change with love, resilience, and community support helps us grow, reset, and thrive through life’s transitions.”

Change Is All Around Us

Change comes at each of us daily in all aspects.  Whether we are sitting on the couch and vegging out, working outside, or whatever other daily task that you fill the blank in with…while we are moving about or immobile – things are changing all around us…growing, solidifying, liquifying, aging, decaying, or coming to life…  From biological items progressing through their life cycle or us creating something—this very moment, from the smallest of spiders building webs to the ongoing construction of a new 2 story home just a few properties away.

How we feel, think, and respond to all aspects of this ongoing change of everything around us on a daily basis, I believe effects our daily outlook and general disposition towards life and people.

How Change Shapes Our Mindset and Outlook

We reveal so much of our inner thoughts through all the different things we do in our daily life.  How we conduct ourselves in our interactions and involvement with others around us and our community.

What are some of the LISTS that were created around the beginning of each year as some of us plan to start something or reset, recalibrate, refocus, etc…

*New Years Resolutions *Personal Goals *Business Goals *Health Goals *Financial Goals *Bucket Lists

I love change, I have a hard time with the follow through and full completion on any change that is tedious or drawn out slowly over a really long time.  From craft projects to changes needed in life, I personally like to have tangible results of noticeable measure relatively quick.  I know, this is a problem –

Lists That Help Us Reset and RefocusI

t’s on my 2024 list titled: Areas of Improvement needed 😉  Anyone who knows me well knows I am list, goal, or task-oriented person.  Not that I follow them consistently or complete them all, but I can assure you; I have the list to show that I thought about it…

or, maybe part of the lack of completion is that I am a touch stubborn and I do not see quick enough results in my own behaviors therefore I focus less and less on this as time progresses.

I do happen to notice as I compile these items on the lists and contemplate each of them; a majority of them are about me.  Which in some case is great because I can  only really control me BUT is this focus of “me” an outcome I only care about or does it naturally accompany with the outcome that is for benefiting others.  Both are  needed, but is the balance tip when something is top of mind or we hyper fixate on something – especially if it is very personal to us to the point that we are neglecting or will be  neglecting other vital aspects of our lives.  This can happen in regards to our relationships and community as we are in diligent focused pursuit of this goal or dream.

Our actions or inaction inevitably has either a positive or negative effect externally from us in all that we do as it ripples out to others whether we see the result instantaneous or sometimes not until decades later.

The Power of Community Support During Transition

Health – Sustainability – Vitality – Growth – Love:  Each community and person needs and crave these attributes for themselves and the environment around them however small or big that is.  I believe as a collective for us to be able to advance   towards these we all have an individual responsibility to be aware of what is our own personal WHY every day.  We should also hold the people around the neighborhoods, cities, counties, or states to the same expectation or level of accountability for their “contribution or deduction by their actions” if we are wanting to stay adaptable and survive as a community.  We will encounter change regardless – but together we can work on being better prepared, resilient, and adaptable.

Of course, we will not all have the same goals but if we work big picture ideas down to more individual items – I am pretty sure most of us can agree on the BIG goals that all our little lists are reaching or striving for.  It is a feeling within us that we are searching and longing for – purpose, identity, love, community, included in, value, awareness, and respect.

If we compare our existing with others that affect us – like that of a human body.  It is comprised of so many parts and pieces to make the greater whole.  They all have a different purpose and identity but are vital to the functioning of the collective.  If some or all of those parts are unhealthy or are feeling like they are not functioning like they would like – it ultimately effects the whole being – mind, heart, body, and soul.

Quick Wins vs. Long-Term Growth

Generationally we pass down beliefs, traditions, and behaviors that create a culture.  This can be healthy or unhealthy and even a blending.  Through researching this, it seems many experts agree that it takes 2 to 3 generations to implement a new culture or to completely lose a previous culture.  We each have the choice of what healthy and unhealthy beliefs, traditions, or behaviors we want to pass along to the generations around us.  Remember you do not have to be a parent to influence youth.

Each of us leave those we encounter with either a positive or negative feeling as we depart – whether in traffic, in line at the store, or a close friend.

We have that choice every time — every day.
